ABOUT ME

Born into a musical family, I began piano lessons at the age of four and discovered my passion for the harp during a poignant moment at my grandparents' 50th anniversary.  From the age of eight, I immersed myself in harp lessons and quickly found joy in performing at weddings, local art galleries, and various events.

At Truman State University, I pursued my musical aspirations with an orchestra scholarship, serving as principal harpist for both the symphony orchestra and wind symphony.  This journey culminated in a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Music.  Continuing my dedication to music education, I furthered my studies and earned a Master of Arts in Education, becoming certified to teach both vocal and instrumental music.

Currently, I share my passion for music as an educator in the Ritenour School District, teaching elementary music, strings, and choir.  Beyond the classroom, I delight in performing as a harpist at weddings, dinners, parties, art galleries, concerts, showers, and more, offering solo, duet, and trio arrangements.  Additionally, I collaborate with orchestras and chamber groups across the Midwest as a freelance harpist.

This journey has been incredibly fulfilling, allowing me to contribute to memorable moments with the timeless beauty of live harp music.  I look forward to bringing my dedication and love for music to your next event.

PHILOSOPHY

I am drawn to teaching and performing music because of its profound ability to convey personal expression and bring joy.

In every performance and engagement, I strive to craft a unique and tailored experience for my audience by curating my repertoire based on their preferences and responses.

I believe in a holistic approach to music education, where technical proficiency is complemented by comprehensive musical understanding and appreciation.

I welcome students of all ages and skill levels.  My approach to harp lessons is customized to fit each student's aspirations, whether they seek to share beautiful music with loved ones or wish to challenge themselves to enhance their musicality.
