ABOUT ME

//  Origin: Saint Louis, MO
//  Years: 2005- Present

//  Genres: Classical, Pop, Indie, OSTs

//  Education: Truman State University
// Position: Elementary Music Educator
Born into a musical family, I began piano lessons at the age of four. After completely falling in love with the harp through an encounter at my grandparents' 50th anniversary, I started taking harp lessons at age eight.  I began performing for weddings, local art galleries, and other events two years later.

In 2014, I attended Truman State University with an orchestra scholarship, where I served as principal harpist of both the symphony orchestra and wind symphony.  I graduated in 2018 with my Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance and Bachelor of Arts in Music.  In 2019, I graduated with my Master of Arts in Education, certified to teach vocal and instrumental music.

I currently teach elementary music, strings, and choir in the Ritenour School District and perform as a harpist in my spare time.  I enjoy
 providing solo, duet, and trio music for events such as weddings, dinners, parties, galleries, shows, concerts, showers, etc.  I also enjoy freelancing with orchestras throughout the Saint Louis and Columbia areas.

PHILOSOPHY

I enjoy, teach, and perform music because of its unique capacity for expression and ability to bring joy.

In each performance and gig, I create a unique, individualized experience for my listeners by selecting my repertoire based on their interests and response.

I believe in a holistic approach to music education, in that instrumental ability should be coupled with comprehensive musical understanding and appreciation.

I accept students of all skills and ages, whether they are intermediate-advanced harpists or unable to read music.  My harp lessons are styled to suit the aspirations of the individual student, whether the harpist wants to share fun, beautiful music with loved ones or desires a challenge to improve their musicianship.
